The First Week of Our 35th Dance Season v2

A Season Unlike Any Other

The doors opened, the music filled the halls, and the energy in our studio soared. The first week of Encore Studio’s 35th dance season was nothing short of magical. It’s not every day that we get to launch a milestone year, and from the moment our families and dancers stepped inside, it was clear—this season is going to be unforgettable.

What made it so special? The answer is simple: you. Our community showed up with excitement, fresh faces, and an undeniable buzz of dance love that radiated through every studio, hallway, and corner of the lobby. From tiny dancers twirling in their very first class to seasoned students slipping back into their routines, the spirit of Encore was alive and thriving.

Welcoming New Faces

One of the greatest joys of the first week is meeting our new dancers. This season, we welcomed a wave of new students—some who have been counting down the days until their very first class, and others who are joining us after hearing about Encore’s legacy of passion, performance, and community.

For our littlest dancers, that first class is often a mix of excitement and butterflies. But with the support of their teachers and the encouragement of their fellow students, those butterflies quickly transformed into smiles and leaps. Parents lingered with proud eyes, watching the magic unfold. For us, those little moments—tiny shoes tapping in time, arms lifted high in a ballet port de bras, giggles spilling out after a fun across-the-floor exercise—are what the start of the season is all about.

Our returning dancers deserve a special shoutout, too. They set the tone for our studio culture: warm, welcoming, and ready to help new students feel at home. Watching friendships blossom between first-timers and long-time Encore dancers is a reminder of why dance is more than movement—it’s community.

A Fresh Look: New Lobby Furniture

Walking into the studio this year, you may have noticed something different: our new lobby furniture. Fresh, modern, and comfortable, it has transformed the heart of our studio into a welcoming hub where parents can relax and dancers can gather before and after class.

The lobby isn’t just a waiting area—it’s a space where friendships form, where siblings cheer on each other’s classes, and where families can connect. This small update has already made a big difference in the atmosphere, and it sets the stage (pun intended!) for a season where every detail matters.

Staff Energy: Locked In and Ready

Behind every great season is a team of dedicated, passionate teachers and staff. This year, our staff came into the first week more prepared, energized, and “locked in” than ever.

From the very first class, our teachers were intentional about meeting new dancers, supporting returning students, and laying the groundwork for the season ahead. Each warm-up, correction, and encouraging word wasn’t just about technique—it was about setting the tone for what it means to be part of Encore Studio.

We know how important first impressions are, especially for our new dancers. That’s why our staff worked together to ensure every student felt seen, celebrated, and supported. Whether it was a smile at the front desk, a teacher kneeling down to tie a shoe, or a staff member giving parents a quick tour, every interaction was infused with the Encore spirit.

The Buzz of Dance Love

There’s something unique about the energy of the first week. It’s more than excitement—it’s a buzz that reminds us all why we do what we do.

You could hear it in the laughter of preschoolers learning their first plié, see it in the determination of teens tackling tricky choreography, and feel it in the proud hugs exchanged after class. The studio was alive with possibility.

For our families, that buzz also carries into conversations in the car ride home, where little voices recount every detail of their class: “Mom, I made a new friend!” “Dad, I learned a new step today!” Those moments are the heartbeat of our season.

Helpful Reminders for Families

As we settle into the rhythm of the season, here are a few friendly reminders that will help ensure the year runs smoothly:

1. Be on Time

Punctuality sets the tone for class. Arriving a few minutes early allows dancers to warm up, settle in, and be fully present when class begins. Likewise, please arrive promptly to pick up your dancer after class. Ending the day on time helps our staff transition smoothly to the next group and ensures your dancer feels safe and cared for.

2. Label Belongings

With so many new faces and classes happening simultaneously, it’s easy for shoes, water bottles, or sweaters to get mixed up. Please write your dancer’s name on all belongings. This small step saves time, avoids confusion, and helps us return items quickly.

3. Collect Items Before Leaving

Take a moment to double-check the studio space and lobby before heading home. Lost-and-found items pile up quickly, and we’d love for your belongings to make it back to their rightful homes.

4. Communicate with Staff

If you have questions, concerns, or updates about your dancer, don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff. We are here to support you and your family every step of the way.

Looking Ahead: Spirit Weeks & Bring a Friend Week

While the first week was all about settling in, we’re already looking ahead to the exciting events coming in October.

Spirit Weeks

Get ready to show your Encore pride! Spirit Weeks are a chance for dancers to dress up, celebrate their creativity, and embrace the joy of dance in a fun, themed way. It’s always one of the highlights of our season, and we can’t wait to see the costumes, colors, and enthusiasm fill the studio.

Bring a Friend Week

Dance is even better when shared. During our Bring a Friend Week, dancers will have the opportunity to invite a friend to join them in class. It’s a wonderful way to introduce others to the joy of movement and the Encore community. We always love seeing new faces light up as they step onto the dance floor for the first time.

Gratitude for 35 Years

As we celebrate the start of our 35th season, it’s impossible not to feel grateful. For three and a half decades, Encore Studio has been more than a place to learn dance—it’s been a place where families grow, friendships flourish, and lifelong memories are made.

This milestone is about honoring our past while embracing the future. To our alumni, thank you for building the foundation. To our current dancers and families, thank you for carrying the torch. And to our future dancers, thank you for stepping into this beautiful tradition.

In Conclusion: A Season to Remember

The first week of our 35th season reminded us of everything we love about Encore Studio: the joy of dance, the strength of community, and the excitement of new beginnings. With new faces, new energy, and a new look in our lobby, the year ahead promises to be one of growth, creativity, and connection.

To our dancers: keep showing up with enthusiasm and heart. To our families: thank you for trusting us with your children’s dance journey. And to our staff: your dedication is the heartbeat of this studio.

Here’s to a season filled with leaps, turns, and countless moments of joy. Encore Studio’s 35th year is officially underway—and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.
